Do you know the best thing to think about on a cold snowy day? The beach, of course! For this family session, we met at one of my very favorite locations. I love this spot not just for portraits, but for a good mind-clearing dose of salt air. You can walk in the sand, climb to the top of the lighthouse or take a short hike through the pines and stand atop the dune to watch the fishing boats glide home through the inlet. When the tide is high, the swirling mixture of bay and ocean waters seep through the jetty creating pools around the rocks that seem to breathe with the waves. When you leave the end of the island, a rounding of land leading the open water passed the barrier coast, you are always little lighter in spirit than when you arrived. Everyone feels a little more at ease by the sea…and this family loves it too!
