You might think that as a photographer, taking my own child’s portrait would be a  piece of cake. Well, not so much.  Like many of you getting ready for “picture day”, I stress about her outfit. I issue mandates such as “no laying on the floor until after your pictures” and “DO NOT eat in that sweater!”.  You also might think that since she is around me and my camera so much she knows the drill and zips right through the session with no challenge. Also, not so much.  She puts up a fights and sticks out her tongue. She grunts and shrugs after every request of a position change or hearing, “No, honey, a nice smile, please.”  To which she replies through a tight toothy grin, “This IS a nice smile. Click the button!” Sometimes I really believe her expressions are deliberately mocking me. 🙂

But in the end, her bright shining face comes alive with her personality and makes my “job” seem easy.  But then again, I made her so I may be a bit biased.
